Do you actually know how much you are spending on IT annually at present?

It’s easy to look at your invoices and say that so far we have spend x pounds, but this is not the cost of IT to your company. How many hours of lost time are due to IT failures? Do you have an employee that has become the defacto IT manager even though they have no IT training?

An example:

If on average 1.5 hours per week per employee are lost though IT inefficiency, the cost per year to the business due to IT inefficiency can be over £1,000 ** per employee.

The defacto IT manager, who is the company book keeper, who earns £30,000 per year spending nearly 40% of his/her time on problem solving IT issues will cost, at best £12,000.
